Helen Geneva Ivey's Obituary
CLAUDE SERVICES- 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 31, 2005 in the First United Methodist Church in Claude. INTERMENT- Claude Cemetery. Mrs. Ivey was born February 7, 1919 in Scottsboro, Alabama and was a resident of Claude for many years. She lived in New Boston, Texas before returning to Claude 3 years ago. She married A. J. Ivey on April 27, 1935 at Texarkana. She had worked for 27 years as a nurse and a nurse’s aide at Palo Duro Nursing Home in Claude before her retirement. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Panhandle, and was a Methodist. She was a loving mother and grandmother. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her husband in 1986; and 2 daughters, Margaret Suttles in October 1999 and by Mildred Talent in July 2004. SURVIVORS - 1 daughter, Dorothy Jaramillo of Albuquerque, NM; 3 sons, John William Ivey of Wichita Falls, Jim Ivey of Sterling, VA, Marvin Ivey of Claude; 1 sister, Mary Lou McClaren of Malta, TX; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren. MEMORIALS- The family requests that memorials be sent to the Claude Cemetery Association or to a favorite charity.
