Gory Dean Loveday's Obituary
Gory Dean Loveday, 63, of Mobeetie, died Monday, May 14, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.
Christian Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 am in Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie with Rev. Erron Mercer, officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Robertson Funeral Directors in Wheeler.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Gory Dean Loveday was born on September 17, 1954 in Amarillo to Berl Loveday and Holly Lancaster Loveday. Gory attended Eastridge Elementary, Travis Junior High, and Claude High School before graduating from Palo Duro High School in 1973, as an All-State baseball player. He attended Amarillo Police Academy and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Tyler. He was also the past-president of the Texas Association of Polygraph Examiners and was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Texas State Board of Polygraph Examiners. Before moving to Mobeetie, two years ago, he was a resident of Tyler, where he served as law enforcement officer for the Smith County Sheriff Department and was a member of the Cross-Brand Cowboy Church. After moving to Mobeetie, he began attending the Cornerstone Church.
He was preceded in death his father Berl Loveday.
Survivors include his mother Holly Lancaster Loveday of Mobeetie; sister Linda
Loveday Wilson and husband Scot of Claude; two nephews Ryan Wilson of Amarillo and Nicklaus Wilson of Claude; niece Jessica Wilson Montgomery and husband William of Council, Idaho; two great-nieces Braylynn and Bethany Montgomery; great-nephew Benjamin Montgomery; and two step-daughters Kimberly Stout of Brownsboro and Sherry Yancy of Overton.
