Gordon D. Maddox's Obituary
Gordon D. Maddox, 79, of Memphis died Friday, December 11, 2020 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Rev. Gary Boles and Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating.
Viewing will be held Monday from 9:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Gordon was born April 23, 1941 in Memphis to Gordon "Bill" and Faye Womack Maddox. He had been a lifetime resident of Memphis and was a 1964 graduate of Texas Tech University. He was a CPA for 56 years and worked 53 of those years in his own company. He married Audrie Phillips on December 10, 1981 in Memphis. He loved fishing, golf, and watching his grandkids play golf. He also enjoyed being a pilot for several years. He was a former member of the Memphis Rotary Club and a longtime member of the Memphis Lions Club. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Connor Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Audrie Maddox of Memphis; his son, Haydn Maddox of Early; his daughter, Tonya Scott and husband Dennis of Burnet; his sister, Vivian; He was Poppy to his grandchildren, Kenley Maddox of Weatherford, Texas, Clay Scott of Burnet, and Saylem Maddox of Lubbock; and his great grandchild, Ryser Rico of Weatherford, Texas.
The family request memorials be sent to Fairview Cemetery Association in Memphis.
