SHAMROCK
SERVICES- 2:00 pm Monday, September 2, 2013 in the Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock with Rev. Dean Driver and Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, officiating.
INTERMENT- Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Mr. Dougherty was born July 4, 1927 in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas to Barney and Effie Burnett Dougherty. He was a US Army veteran where he had served during World War II. He had been a longtime resident of Shamrock where he was a carpenter prior to his retirement. He married Billie Irene Seago on February 10, 1990 in Samnorwood. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Samnorwood where he served in the prison ministry.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents; his first wife, Lucille in 1989; 7 brothers; and 1 sister.
SURVIVORS – his wife, Billie Dougherty of Shamrock; 3 sons, Chester Dougherty and wife Donna of Abilene, Gene Dougherty and wife Donna of Amarillo, and Charles Roberts and wife Mary of Idalou; 3 daughters, Joyce Barnard and husband Larry of Oklahoma City, Connie Farrar and husband Terry of Wheeler, and Debbie Simpson and husband David of Shamrock; a brother, R.B. Dougherty and wife Rochelle of Shamrock; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and many many friends.
