BIOGRAPHY- George S. Hooten was born June 16, 1931 in Collingsworth County, TX to James Polk and Attice Rozelle Cunningham Hooten. George married Willie Bea Kirkland on August 21, 1949 in Shamrock. He lived in Shamrock most of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church.
George was a truck driver and a Law Enforcement Officer. He worked for Collingsworth County Sheriff’s office, Wheeler County Sheriff’s office, and Shamrock Police Dept.
George was a member of Shamrock Boosters and Shamrock Lions Club. He was an avid gun collector and trader, he enjoyed hunting and enjoyed serving the public. George volunteered on the ambulance service and was coordinator of the South Wheeler County EMS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
