SHAMROCK
Memorial Services will be Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 1:30 PM in the First United Methodist Church, Shamrock with Rev. Jarrod Neal and Rev. Joe G. Jernigan officiating.
Cremation and Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Gary Wayne Vinyard was born March 13, 1955 in Shamrock to J. R. “Junior” and Wanda Anderson Vinyard. He lived with his family in Dumas from 1954 to 1964 and moved to Shamrock during the fourth grade. He graduated from Shamrock High School in 1974. He attended Panhandle State University on a track and football scholarship and TSTI of Amarillo.
Gary was an amazing soul. He was a very loving, genuine and selfless individual. He was very artistic and an extremely gifted pianist. Gary had a God given talent for playing the piano and would play passionately for hours and hours. He was also a talented, self-accomplished welder. Several structures Gary built around the city of Shamrock will be a long lasting testament to his work. Gary was famous for his attention to detail.. He will be missed by many and forever leave an imprint on our hearts.
On January 30, 2007, Gary married a lifelong friend Rhonda DeVries. They were blessed with a marriage filled with love, fun and laughter.
Gary was preceded in death by his brother Ray Vinyard in 1981.
SURVIVORS: Wife – Rhonda Vinyard of Shamrock; Parents, J. R. and Wanda Vinyard of Shamrock; 2 Sons, Gered Vinyard & wife Sonya of St. Clair, MO, and Derek Vinyard of Brooklyn, NY; 1 Sister, Amy Torisk & Tracy of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX; 1 Niece, Austin Torisk of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX; 2 Nephews, Shannon & Jennifer Vinyard of Amarillo, and Taylor Torisk of Fair Oaks Ranch; 4 Grandsons, Scotty, Ian, Logan, & Liam Vinyard. Numerous Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
