Frank William Sparling's Obituary
On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Frank William Sparling, husband, father, Papa, son, and brother passed away at the age of 61 in Amarillo, Tx.
Frank was born in Elwood City, Pennsylvania on April 17, 1959 and was a son to Chuck and Mary Truby and Gerald Sparling. He was a loving brother to his sisters Rose Bailey, Cassandra Epstein, Lara Ott, and twin brother, Fred Sparling. Frank was preceded in death by a half-brother, Bruce Sparling, step-brother, Jack Truby, and step-sister, Sue Ann Svhira.
Frank will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 41 years, Rhonda Sparling and their seven children: Donald Harris and wife, Jill, of Dallas, Tx., Daniel and wife, Stephanie, of Aubrey, Tx., Angel Munson and husband, Cody, of Roswell, N.M., Charles Harris and wife, Pamela, of Amarillo, Tx., Frankie Sparling and wife, Amanda, of McLean, Tx., Christopher Sparling and wife, Mechelle, of Midland, Tx., and Logan Sparling and wife, Natalie, of Wichita Falls, Tx.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Jackson, Jacob, Emma, Halle, Carter, Calvin, Raelynn, Miranda, Ryleigh, Kayeclyn, Hunter, Levi, Colt, Ashton, Addison, Brynlee, and Reese.
Frank and Rhonda joined in marriage on June 8, 1980 in Amarillo, Tx. Together, since then, they have called Mclean home. Rhonda was treasured by Frank. It was his lifelong desire for her to always have what she needed in life. Frank will be most remembered as a man who possessed a strong work ethic and one who took great pride in being reliable, honest, and kind. He had a respect and love for the outdoors so great that many stories consist of fishing, hunting, boating, and sports. His most gentle nature could be seen through the spoiling of his three pets: Brewski, Jager, and Shautzi.
Frank led a quiet life with his hands providing evidence of his dedication to his work and community. In the beginning, Frank worked for McLean Independent School District for 19 years as the bus foreman and maintenance supervisor. He quickly sought time to begin a plumbing business, serve as the constable in Gray County, and eventually built and owned Sparling Automotive and Towing.
A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in McLean at 2:00 P.M on Tuesday, April 20th. Officiating Frank’s celebration of life will be Thacker Haynes, Randy Stalls, and Brian Fuller.
