Floy Grace Barrow's Obituary
CHILDRESS, formerly of HEDLEY GRAVESIDE SERVICES – 9:00 am Monday, July 29, 2013 in the Rowe Cemetery in Hedley with Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Hedley, officiating. INTERMENT – Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Floy was born December 15, 1919 in Malvern, Arkansas to Cecil Franklin and Mary Lee Thompson Taylor. She married Nolan Barrow on April 8, 1944 in Arkansas. She had served her country in the United States Coast Guard. After obtaining her Master’s Degree, she had taught school in Clarendon and Lakeview. She belonged to a women’s veterans association in Amarillo. Floy also enjoyed gardening, needlework, and she loved to read. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hedley. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – her parents; her husband, Nolan in 1987; and 2 brothers, Bert and Dale Taylor. SURVIVORS – 4 daughters, Sara Chapman and husband Gene of Childress, Louise Wilson and husband James of Quanah, Lee Foster of Troope, Texas, Carolyn Bacon of Denton; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. MEMORIALS- The family request memorials be sent to the Rowe Cemetery Association.
