Euline was a lifelong resident of Shamrock, born there on June 24, 1938 to Carl “Blackie” Herman and Alma Mae (Breeden) Seymour. She married Jerry Franklin Allen on April 20, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2009 after 51 years of marriage.
From a young age, she began working as a waitress and worked at many restaurants in Shamrock. She later worked in the Shamrock Elementary School cafeteria and also managed the cafeteria at Shamrock High School. Her favorite job, by far, was working for Cantrell’s Corporation at the gas station and convenience store. She eventually retired from there due to health issues. Euline loved working with plants and flowers, especially her roses. She even enjoyed doing this after entering the nursing home, where she took great joy in assisting in any way she could. Before her health declined, Euline and Jerry were very active supporters of all school and sporting events for their grandkids and great grandkids. They attended each and every event faithfully, cheering on every child, often providing snacks for them as well. Euline was a member of First Baptist Church in Shamrock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, “Blackie” and Alma Seymour; her husband, Jerry; six brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include her four children, Debbie Gilbert of Shamrock, Marilyn Lawrence of Buffalo, NY, Frank Allen of Shamrock and Jerry Don Allen of Granbury, TX ; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Shamrock, the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, or Wheeler Nursing and Rehab.
