Our condolences to the family. We will miss our neighbor down the street on Vista de Oro and, of course, my old Bel Air football coach (1963-64 district champs). Coach Odell was a big, early influence on my life...I will miss him and keep him and his family in my prayers always. #84 Ray Gutierrez
I have always remembered Coach Odell form my time playing for him at Bel Air HS during the good years. He was always a gentleman motivator. Someone you just wanted to please. Personally I learnd much from him not only on the field but more importantly off. Sorry for his families loss but what a great human being!RIP
Cleo, our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Gene was special and touched the lives of many people in a good way. Sincerely, Earl and Charlotte
Cleo, I cannot express the shock that both Karen and I had when we heard about the passing of Coach Odell. He was a great person and gave me my first coaching job at Bel Air. He had many great qualities but one of his best is he loved children and the people around him. He will be missed. I also want to thank you, Cleo, for your friendship to Karen and me when we all worked together. Karen and I still talk about the good times the coaches and coaches wives had when we were together. Coach Odell will be missed but not forgotten.
A true gentleman and great coach.
Our deepest condolences to your entire family. We really respected and liked Mr. Odell.
I will always remember coach Odell as a fine coach and mentor. He will be missed! My sympathy to his family!
Dear Mrs. O'Dell,I was so saddened to read of Coach O'Dell's death. As a freshman, I was always very pleased when he acknowledged me in the hallway as Little Lumm. My brothers, Max and Jerry, admired him very much. Seeing you both at the 50th reunion was a real highlight for Jerry. You both had a positive influence on the lives of so many students and hold a special place in my memories.Linda LummBAHS class of '65
You will be missed, sir. My most humble condolences to all the O'dell family.
