Ethel Ferris' Obituary
Ethel Ferris of Shamrock, TX passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Shamrock at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 1 day. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 11th Street Baptist Church in Shamrock, with Rev. James Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Quail Cemetery in Quail, TX.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Ethel was born March 25, 1936 in Quail, TX to Alton Guy Coates and Ruth (Baker) Coates. She grew up in Quail and married Fred Coleman Ferris on June 12, 1954. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2007. Ethel did upholstery work for many years, but she mostly enjoyed flipping houses. She was a member of 11th Street Baptist Church in Shamrock, where she enjoyed crocheting hundreds of hats for children each year for the shoebox ministry. Ethel loved spending time with her family, especially all her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Ruth Ferris; and her husband, Fred Coleman Ferris.
She is survived by her 3 children, Steve Ferris of Shamrock, Gene Ferris and fiancé, Juleigh of Canyon, TX and Christie Evans and husband, Butch of Shamrock; her grandchildren, Amber and Chris Bollinger of Iowa, Steven F. Ferris and wife, Jennifer of Illinois, Jeremy and Kelly Ferris of Woodward, OK, Kylee and Chad Anderson of Bushland, TX, Ashlee and David Shedd of Amarillo, Slayton Ferris and fiancé, Kinnlee of Canyon, TX, Landan and Kassi Marran, Larry C. Marran, Isaiah Alvaredo and Steven and Sarah Evans, all of Shamrock and Travis Evans of Wichita KS; 14 great grandchildren; and special family members Kim Gregory and Bobby Gray.
