GROOM
SERVICES - 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in the First United Methodist Church in Groom, with Rev. Weldon Rives, Pastor, officiating.
INTERMENT - Groom Cemetery in Groom.
Mr. Lamberson was born in a half dugout on January 23, 1916 near Hedley to Stock & Cleta Bell Youree Lamberson. He married Shirley Knight on June 21, 1940 in Clarendon. He was a cowboy and worked on several ranches, he farmed, & was a carpenter prior to his retirement. He was a resident of Groom and Clarendon most of his life. He always had colts and horses, which he loved raising. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Groom.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - his parents; 1 son, Stocky Lamberson in 1993; several brothers and sisters; and a great grandchild, Zachary Vasquez in 2002.
SURVIVORS - his wife, Shirley of the home; a son, Larry Lamberson and wife Vicki of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Aimee Lamberson of Panhandle; 2 brothers, J.T. Lamberson of Hedley, & Jack Lamberson of Bowie; 2 sisters, Willie Nell Waddell of Coleman, & Edna Lou Bulman of Canyon; 6 grandchildren, Renae Freeman and husband Phil, Melanie Lamberson, & Lance Lamberson and wife Mikka all of Panhandle, Todd Lamberson and wife Marcia of Lubbock, Jill Hodgson and husband Shane of Pflugerville, and Suzanne Howard of College Station; & 13 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10 am until service time at the Church on Saturday.
