ElWanda Neldadene Taylor's Obituary
ElWanda was born April 5, 1938 in Wellington, Texas to James Thomas Edwards and Carrie Bell Turner Edwards. She was the youngest of eleven children. She married John J. (Sonny) Taylor on June 23, 1956 in Clovis, New Mexico. ElWanda lived her entire life in Shamrock, Texas before moving to Yukon where she was a wife and homemakers. She and John had two daughters, Donnese Taylor and Tanya Lynn Taylor Hobbs. She had three grandsons, who she loved heart and sole; Christopher Paul Hobbs, Johnathon Michael Hobbs and Jeremy Daniel Hobbs. She was blessed with two great grandsons; Evan Michael Hoffman and Easton Ryan Hobbs.
ElWanda loved to dance. Whether it be western swing or square dancing, her heart was in the music. She never met a stranger and loved to visit with everyone. ElWanda was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Shamrock, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; James T. Edwards and Carrie B. Turner Edwards, four brothers; Leonard Edwards, Luther Edwards, Presley Edwards and Ralph Edwards, four sisters; Ruby Alexander, Myrtle Stallings, Inez Vorse and Eloyse Miller.
She is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, John J. Taylor, of the home, Yukon, Oklahoma, daughters Donnese Taylor of Shamrock, Texas and Tanya Hobbs, and husband Mike of Yukon, Oklahoma. Grandsons Christopher Paul Hobbs of Woodward, Oklahoma; Johnathon Michael Hobbs and wife Denise and children Evan Michael and Easton Ryan of Yukon, Oklahoma; Jeremy Daniel Hobbs of Canyon, Texas. Two sisters, Jewell Marie Judd of Clarendon,Texas and Betty Kaiser of McLean, Texas. Many nieces and nephews. Special like a sister, niece Sue Marsh, special friend and Pastor Doris McCrutchen, both of Shamrock, Texas. Lifelong friends Barbara Ferrell of Coweta, Oklahoma and Wanda Bachmann of Amarillo, Texas. "Girly" friend Leslie Killingsworth of Stephenville, Texas, and one beloved fur baby, Katy.
ElWanda was full of glitz and glam and will be missed.
