Edna Leone Begert May's Obituary
Services will be Monday, July 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church, Allison, TX with Rev. Ricky Carstensen, officiating. Burial will be in Zybach Cemetery, Allison, TX under the direction of Wright Funeral Home, Wheeler, TX. Edna May was born the seventh of eight children on July 8, 1916 in Lewistown, Montana to Emily Jane Haw and J.J. Richardson. From Montana, the family moved to the Llano river near Junction, TX where many fond memories were experienced and shared. After living in Canyon, TX for several years, Edna completed her education at Allison High School. She married Ernest Begert in 1935 and to them two children were born, Edwin and Linda. After Ernest’s death in 1970, she married Ruben May in 1974, who died in 1990. Edna was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, seamstress, postal worker, and enjoyed seeing God’s world from an artist’s point of view. She loved her church family of Allison Methodist church. At the age of 90, she moved to the Clairmont in Amarillo where she continued to love life and meeting new people. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Homer and Lee Richard; five sisters, Hazel Gamel, Edith Donaldson, Doris Newsom, Ava Corn and Alice Richardson.
Survivors: 1 Son - Edwin Begert & wife Sue - Amarillo, 1 Daughter - Linda Lieb & husband Dean - Pringle-Morse, 5 Grandchildren - Carrie Franklin, Janice Mathews, James Lieb, John Lieb and Lori Sparks 11 Great Grandchildren - Step-children - Betty Dyson, Barbara Burgess, James May and families, Many nieces and nephews
