SERVICES- 10:00 AM Friday, September 28, 2012 in the Hedley Church of Christ with Bright Newhouse and Don Stone, officiating.
INTERMENT – Rowe Cemetery in Hedley.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Doyle was born September 13, 1922 in McKnight to O.F. “Pete“ and Lillie Ruth Hickerson Messer. He married Susan Evelyn Fancher on March 19, 1953 in Hollis, Oklahoma. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran serving during World War II. He had been a resident of Hedley most of his life where he farmed and also taught Vocational Ag at Hedley ISD and Quail ISD. He was the past president of Rowe Cemetery Association, Past president of the Donley County Hospital District, Past President of the Hedley Lions Club, and was currently serving as the president of the Hedley Sr. Citizens. He was also a member of the Hedley Vol. Fire Dept., Donley County Retired Teachers Association, Hedley American Legion Adamson-Lane Post 287, and the Hedley Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time on his farm and spending times with his grandkids and great grandkids showing his cows.

SURVIVORS – 2 sons, Stuart Messer and wife Kaye of Memphis and Lyndon Messer of Hedley; a daughter, Angela Hines and husband Mike of Round Rock; a sister, Nelda Mae Hudson of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren, Ashton Hines and wife Karen of West Monroe, LA, Aaron Hines of Round Rock, Meagan Miksch and husband Dustin of Austin, Kimberly Messer of Memphis, and Peter Messer of Memphis; 2 great grandchildren, Luke and Allie Kate Hines of West Monroe, LA.
