Dorman Doyle Halsted's Obituary
Dorman Doyle Halsted (Doyle Halsted), 78, of Abilene (formerly of Claude) died suddenly at his home Thursday, June 7, 2018 in Abilene, Texas.
Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Robertson Funeral Director in Claude with Donny Stow, officiating.
Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Claude.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Robertson Funeral Directors in Claude.
Doyle was born on July 29, 1939, in Ingam, Texas the youngest son of the late Ben and Arvilla Ohlhauser Halsted. Raised in Claude, Texas attended Claude High School, after high school he moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona. Began his career as electrical lineman with Sulfur Springs Valley Electrical Co-op. Retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland as high voltage electrician, after 30 years of service. Doyle then moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona and began working for Palominas School District in Hereford, Arizona as maintenance supervisor before returning to Texas. Doyle was an avid bowler and bowled in several tournaments in Arizona and Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Halsted Lanham; and two brothers, Robert Halsted and Bill Halsted; daughter, Denise Ann Halsted of Aberdeen, Maryland.
Survivors include his wife, of 58 years, Margaret (Marge Talbart) Halsted, and one brother Benjamin D. Halsted of Abilene, Texas. He was a loving Father to his children, Patricia Halsted Ahrens of Havre de Grace, Maryland, Beverly Halsted Neece of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Melaney Halsted Hamilton of Hazel Township, Pennsylvania; Five grandchildren; Christopher Cody Ahrens, Joshua Kyle Halsted, Matthew Cory Ahrens, Ashley Michele Wilson, and Justin Earl Wilson; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
