Doris Marie Kirkland's Obituary
Doris Marie Kirkland, 88, of Shamrock died Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Wellington.
Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2022 in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock with Daylon Kirkland and Pastor Joseph Vallejos, officiating. Burial will follow in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock.
Viewing will be held Wednesday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Doris was born June 17, 1933 in Henrietta, Texas to Carl and Mattie Jolley Yarbrough. She married Donald Dean Kirkland on December 29, 1949 in Wellington. She had been a resident of the Shamrock area most of her life and was a homemaker. She loved crocheting, gardening, and collecting dolls. She also volunteered at the U Drop Inn as a greeter for several years. She loved her kids, but loved her grandkids and great grandkids even more. She will be deeply missed by her family. She was a member of the Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 15, 2005; two sons, Ray and David Kirkland; her daughter, Ann Hewes; and five sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Kirkland and wife Dixie of Shamrock and Jimmy Kirkland and wife Ricke of Kelton; a brother, Buddy Carl Yarbrough of Como, Texas; a sister, Trula Davenport and husband Ronnie of Emory, Texas; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family request memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
