WIMBERLEY / CLARENDON SERVICES - No public services are planned. A private family graveside will be held at a later time. FORMAL VISITATION/VIEWING - The family will receive friends for a time of visitation Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Clarendon. INTERMENT - Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Doris was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was born #6 of 10 children. Her family resided in Brice until Doris was age 12 when they moved to Goodnight. Doris married at age 18 on February 28, 1935 at the Donley County Courthouse. Aside from one brief move to California, Doris and her husband lived in Clarendon and raised their 2 daughters. Then, in 1955, they relocated to California where they remained until 2003. They then moved to Wimberley, Texas, near Austin for their twilight years. Doris was a faithful member of the Clarendon Church of Christ; then, in Indio, CA and for over 40 years in Turlock, CA. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her parents, Sherrod Alexander and Evalena Watson Hatley. SURVIVORS - include her husband, Clyde D. Barker, 2 Daughters, Shirley Barbour and Vicki Estey & son-in-law Dave Estey all of Wimberley, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Shari Lee-Hill and Rick Lee of Los Angeles, California; 3 brothers in California, and 1 sister in Tennessee. MEMORIALS - The family suggests that memorial donations be sent to one’s favorite charity in Doris’ honor.
