Donna Ruth Miller Tackett's Obituary
Donna Ruth Miller Tackett of Allison, TX passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 in Amarillo, TX at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 1 day. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Allison, TX, with Rev. Eddie Tubbs officiating. Burial will follow in Zybach Cemetery in Briscoe. Viewing will be held at the funeral home in Wheeler on Friday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM with family receiving friends from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.

Donna was born on September 4, 1955 in Sayre, OK to Domer and Hazel (Welch) Miller. She was raised in Allison, TX and met her husband, Samuel “Sammy” Tackett in Clinton, OK. They were married on June 21, 1985 at the Allison Baptist Church. Donna and Sammy moved to Drummond, where they adopted their son, Justin in May of 1995. Over the years, Donna worked for the State of Oklahoma, Walmart, Startech, Double-T Backhoe and First Bank in Mobeetie. She enjoyed gardening, working and feeding cattle, along with spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Domer Miller.
Survivors include her husband Samuel “Sammy” Tackett; her son Justin Tackett and wife, Margaret; her mother, Hazel Miller; her grandchildren, Annabelle and Jonathan; two brothers, Danny Miller and wife, Cathy, and Clifton “Hoss” Miller and wife, Chris; her father-in-law Bob Tackett and wife, Betty; her sister-in-law Nena Pealor and husband, Dennis; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Allison Volunteer Fire Department.
