Donald Finsterwald's Obituary
Donald Finsterwald, 90, of Wheeler, TX passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 in Wheeler. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Shawn Zybach and David Zybach officiating.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Donald was born on July 10, 1932 in Wheeler County, TX to Herbert and Essie Smith Finsterwald. He attended Briscoe Schools and lived in Wheeler County his entire life. He was a farmer/rancher and also worked at Meadows Water Well Service helping Brady Meadows. After retirement, he began helping the communities in Wheeler stay clean by picking up cans along the streets and highways. He was a member of the Wheeler Lions Club and Wheeler Area Church of Christ.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marie Wright and her husband John; his brother, Charles Finsterwald; his brother-in-law, Don Patterson; and two special cousins, Doris Finsterwald and Larry Finsterwald.
Survivors include his sisters, Laverne Patterson of Lubbock, TX and Mona Reynolds and husband Don of Dallas, TX; three nieces; two nephews; special friends, Margie Conner and Claudine Finsterwald; and all his brother and sisters at Wheeler Area Church of Christ.
The family wish to thank all the staff at Parkview Assisted Living and BSA Hospice, especially Kathy Copeland who was so special to him. Thanks also go to Mechelle Batenhorse and Jerry Allison at Shamrock General Hospital.
