Dennis Carrol Pepper's Obituary
Dennis Pepper, of Shamrock, TX, passed away April 11, 2026 in Shamrock at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 1 day. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Dennis was born November 10, 1942 in Shamrock to Thomas and Lottie (Phipps) Pepper. He grew up in Shamrock and graduated from Shamrock High School in 1960. Dennis married Kay Messer on August 30, 1923 in Twitty, TX. He began working as a lineman for Greenbelt Electric in 1966 and worked there for 13 years. Dennis and Kay moved to Fritch, TX in 1976, where he began working for MAPCO. They eventually settled back in Twitty, near Shamrock, where Dennis lived for the remainder of his life.
After retirement, Dennis and Kay developed a great love of camping and this took them to many places over the years. They even became camp hosts and stayed for several years in two of their favorite places, Liberal, KS and Red River, NM. They met and became friends with many wonderful people through their love of camping and have many special memories from all of their travels.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lottie Pepper; His Mother-in law and Father-in-law, Bob and Inez Messer; and 7 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Pepper of Shamrock; 2 sons, Robert Pepper of Shamrock, and Ronnie Pepper and wife, Jessica of Allison, TX; 1 daughter, Deborah Vagrosky and husband, Rick of Amarillo; 1 brother, Leon Pepper of Borger, TX; 2 sisters, Shirley Gist and Wanda Armstrong, both of Pampa, TX; 3 grandchildren, Amanda, Chris and Jake; 1 great grandson, Colson; and his beloved Chihuahua, Little Bit, who already misses him dearly.
The family asks that any memorials or donations be made to your local Humane Society, Animal Rescue or favorite charity.
