Dell Graham's Obituary
Dell Graham, 83, of Memphis died Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Childress.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 31, 2022 in the First Baptist Church in Memphis with Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Viewing will be held Friday at the funeral home with family receiving friends for visitation from 4:00-6:00 PM.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Dell was born December 9, 1939 in Littlefield, Texas to Dub and Texas Faye Jones Graham. Dell graduated from Plainview High School in 1958. He married Murream Ward on December 14, 1962 in Plainview. He later graduated from West Texas State College in 1963 and was the last class to graduate under the college name. Dell worked for Texas Department of Human Services for 23 years and farmed for 22 years prior to his retirement. He served on the Memphis City Council for 12 years and was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on December 10, 2012; and a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Murream Williams, May 20, 2022.
Survivors include a son, David Graham and wife Irma of Memphis; 2 daughters, Rhonda London and husband David of Bushland and Leah Franklin and husband Johnny of Memphis; his sisters, Helen Hewitt of San Antonio and Sharlene Polvado of McAllen; a brother, Roy Graham of Crane Hill, Alabama; 9 grandchildren, Holly Strickland and husband Sean, Lorra Preston and husband Jonathan, Kendell Williams and husband Jakob, Kade Byars, Kye Byars, Jacob Franklin, Macaela Graham, and Analise Graham; 3 great grandchildren, Jacoby Preston, Graham Strickland, and Addison Preston.
The family request memorials be sent to Memphis Meals on Wheels or Fairview Cemetery Association.
