Very fond memories spending time at the Blackketter's home as a youngster playing with Ross and his brothers and sister, and Dr. B always joking and kidding around with us children. He always had a great and fun loving sense of humor.I recall wanting to get a motorcycle and he begged me not to do so much so that he took me to the hospital one time to visit with a man that had just been in a motorcycle accident to sway my opinion of them. He was a fine man and a great physician, and a wonderful father and husband as well.You are missed from our presence Dr. B. Many prayers to his family at this time in their lives.Von

When I was a junior in high school attending Samnotwood High School, I became very sick after a basketball game. My mom and dad took me to the Shamrock Hospital. They were first told that I was dehydrated and had a stomach flu. Over the course of the next two days I became to decline. I had a high fever, pain in my entire stomach and my white blood count skyrocketed. Dr. Blacketter had been out of town. I had Been in the hospital for three days when he returned. He came to check on me and within the hour he had me in surgery. My appendix had raptured three days early. If, he had not come to check on me,I probably would not be here right now. So,I will miss my favorite sweet Dr.Blacketter.
