David "Big Dave" Reynolds' Obituary
David “Big Dave” Reynolds went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 8, 2024 in Wheeler, Tx.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 12, 2024 at Trinity Church in McLean with James Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean.
Viewing will be held Thursday at Robertson Funeral Home in Shamrock.

David “Big Dave” Reynolds was born February 7, 1957 in Fort Smith, AR to Don and Ellen Reynolds. At 16 Big Dave began working at Amarillo Stock Yards where he continued all through high school. Many valuable lessons were learned throughout his years there that would end up being very valuable to him later in life, being a Cowboy was his passion. Big Dave met the love of his life Kathleen Reynolds in Amarillo, and they married on December 19, 1975. Big Dave worked on various ranches throughout his life, but his favorite one was the one that brought him to Shamrock in 1982. Running a ranch for Kade and Chris Matthews under Bill Craft teaching his children the cowboy way of life and the valuable lesson of working hard for what you have. Big Dave loved spending time with his family and friends on the ranch whether it was checking cattle, fixing windmills, riding horses or campouts at the lake. As a member of the Shamrock Rodeo Association Big Dave used his love of horses, roping and cattle to guide others into their love of Rodeo.
Big Dave is survived by his wife, 3 daughters Melissa and Shawn Hunt of Briscoe, Tx, Mari Ann Reynolds of Elk City, Ok and Allison Reynolds of Shamrock, Tx, 1 son Tanner Reynolds and Ashley Wells of Chickasha, Ok. 1 brother Steve and Susan Reynolds of Amarillo, Tx and 1 Sister Paula and Ronnie McKee of Amarillo, Tx. 12 grandchildren Jadyn, Kaleb, Addy, Shai’Lee, Brycen, Rhaedon, Nolan, Hazin, Aaliyah, Izzac, Maisyn, and Tillie. Many lifelong friends and adopted grandchildren. All his grandchildren loved their “Grumpy Bear” very much!
Big Dave was met at his mansion in the sky by his parents, a daughter Jennifer Dougherty, a son Elwood Reynolds, a brother Tommy Reynolds, many friends whom he has missed dearly and his best horse Bubba.
Big Dave requested that his life be remembered by celebrating him with food and horses, two things he loved in life. The family requests that all who stop by the house enjoy the food and fellowship!
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Shamrock Rodeo Association P.O. Box 502 Shamrock, Tx 79079
