Uncle David adored his family. He loved to fish, loved sports (whether in person-Go Tigers/or on the TV), he also loved a spirited game of ‘hail’- a card game our family ALWAYS played during Thanksgiving. I remember ALL of us packed into the front little bedroom at Granny’s house, watching the Cowboys play whatever team and it sounding like a horrific domestic incident with everyone screaming and supporting their team on the TV. Everyone trying to eat their Thanksgiving food, drinking their tea, and rooting on their teams. We were packed in there like sardines. No room to move. We also played croquet. Some lost and some won. Lol. Good times and memories made. I remember PaPa watching us play while he sat in the white glider. Silent but watching. I also remember Lake Weatherford. Taking the outdoor showers 🙄. Swimming. Sleeping under the stars in a huge tent. Fun had by all.
