Darrell Wayne Moore's Obituary
Darrell Wayne Moore, 87, of Amarillo, TX went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2024 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, TX, with Cody Allen officiating. Viewing will be Monday at Robertson Funeral Directors in Wheeler from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, with family receiving friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors in Wheeler.
Darrell was born October 1, 1937 in Wheeler, Texas to C.L. "Fat" Moore and Vera Holt Moore Barnes. He was raised in Wheeler County and graduated from Wheeler High School. In June of 1958, Darrell married Donna Kay Caswell and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Darrell and Donna were the proud parents of four children. Darrell worked many jobs including being a pole climber for SPS, managing a family ranch, working at the Wheeler CO-OP, and driving a school bus for the Wheeler School District. Darrell also proudly served in The National Guard. He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna Moore; a sister, Shirley Jolly; a son-in-law, Craig Brooks; and a great-granddaughter, Illa Ramirez.
Darrell is survived by: two daughters, Darla Brooks of Lubbock, and Judy McCutcheon and husband Jack of Lubbock; two sons, David Moore and wife Monica of Amarillo, and Ted Moore and wife Linda of Amarillo; two brothers, Leon Moore of Farmington, New Mexico, and Charles Moore of Wheeler; a sister, Connie Baker of Cache, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Travis Brooks, Trista Brooks, Ashley (Warren) Johnson, Taryn McCutcheon, Jordan (Brad) Wheaton, Carson (Kaleen) Moore, Colt Moore, Kyle (Catherine) Moore, and Jessica (Brian) Highfill; eleven great-grandchildren, Brogan McCutcheon; Judge Johnson; Kamryn, Remmington, and Lennox Wheaton; Zoey, Addieline, and Kiensler Moore; Vera and Drake Moore; James Highfill.
