Daniel Lee Cooper, 82, of Estelline, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Daniel was born on June 25, 1943, in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Virginia, where he spent his early years. He served in the United States Air Force before devoting his professional career to nursing, a field that reflected his caring nature and commitment to helping others. In 2010, he moved to Estelline with Scott Mahaffey, his devoted partner of 26 years. Together, they built a life grounded in shared interests and community.
After relocating to Estelline, Daniel remained active, working part-time for radio stations in Memphis and Childress. He had a lifelong love of antiquing and took great joy in Broadway musicals. Daniel was also a devoted cat lover, finding comfort and happiness in their companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Daniel is survived by his spouse, Scott Mahaffey of Estelline, who shared many meaningful years with him and will forever cherish his memory.
