Cledith Ann "Ned" Burrell's Obituary
Cledith (Ned) Arnell Burrell was carried to her Lord God by her savior Jesus Christ on the morning of July 28th, 2022. A woman whose life was humbly, fearfully, and lovingly led is now at home in Heaven with her husband Arthur Wayne (A.W.) Burrell. Surrounded by family, she passed away peacefully in her sleep at home under the care of her loving children and grandchildren.
On August 1st at 10:30 am at the Cemetery in Shamrock, Texas, a private family graveside service will be held for the burial. Public funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm at the First Baptist Church in Wheeler, Texas with Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating.
On July 31st from 1-3pm at the Robertson Funeral Home in Wheeler, Texas there will be a private family viewing and from 4-6pm the doors will be opened to the public for a closed casket visitation.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Born on May 17, 1935, to Rudene Gladys and George William Davis, Ned was the second eldest of 6 children. After becoming a widow before 60, she used skills learned by working with A.W. to continue and expand her husband’s successful business in ranching and real estate which she ran herself until over 80 years of age.
Matriarch, Mother, Entrepreneur, Sister, Aunt, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother, Great and Great Great Grandmother. Saint on Earth. With over 75 descendants and their spouses under her, the deep love we feel for Ned will continue through the generations. Our grief and sadness are only comforted by our joy that she is now in eternal paradise.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband; three siblings, Frances Clay, Louis Davis, Barbara (Bobbie) Albin; and one son in law, Mike Honeycutt.
She is survived by two siblings, Martha Salem and Curtis (Peanut) Davis; and five children, Teresa (Trudy) Burrell, Ladonna (Donnie) Honeycutt, Markus Burrell and wife Terrye, Elisha Bonner and husband Joe, Kelly Burrell and wife Lucy and over 60 direct descendants.
