Charles Wayne Crockett, 84, of Memphis, Texas died Sunday, April 7, 2024 in Memphis, Texas.
Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Monday, April 15, 2024 in the Memphis Church of Christ with Mark Lance, officiating.
Private inurnment will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Charles was born June 4, 1939 in McLean, Texas to Leon and Almeda Howard Crockett. He married Lue Collins on May 25, 1964 in Clarendon, Texas. After Charles and Lue married, they lived in McLean before moving to Wheeler where they had lived for several years, and later Memphis where they have lived the past 16 years. He had worked for Pioneer Natural Gas for 25 years and was a pumper in the oilfield prior to his retirement. He was an avid sports fan, loved gardening, fishing, being on the tractor, and going to the grocery store. Charles was also a great mechanic and could fix anything. He was very social, laid back, and was a kind man. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Maurine Foshee and Colleen Stewart.
Survivors include his wife, Lue Crockett of Memphis; his daughters, Chandra Crockett and Becky Crockett and husband Kevin Huddleston all of Memphis; 5 grandchildren, Trenton Crockett, Braden Crockett and wife Beth, Kate Smith and husband Cam, Kooper Huddleston, and Tori Huddleston; one great grandchild, Josie Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
