Celine Eugenia Chauveaux Hughes' Obituary
CLAUDE GRAVESIDE SERVICES- 12:30 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in Claude Cemetery in Claude with Alan Williamson, officiating.. INTERMENT- Claude Cemetery in Claude. Visitation will be from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Robertson Armstrong Chapel in Claude. Arrangements are by Robertson Armstrong Chapel of Claude. Mrs. Hughes was a member of an Armstrong County pioneer family, having been born to Antoine and Celine Boudes Chauveaux on August 17, 1919 in Claude. After graduating from Claude High School, she met Walker Ray Hughes. They were married July 9, 1942 in Claude and lived in various locations, including Fort Worth, California, Florida and Blanket, Texas before returning to Claude in 1998. Walker preceded her in death on February 17, 2002. Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker, an accomplished seamstress, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Claude. The family wishes to thank the staff of Park Central for the loving care shown to Mrs. Hughes. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – her husband; her parents; two brothers; and three sisters. SURVIVORS – a sister, Anna Belle Hughes of Amarillo; a brother, John Chauveaux of Claude; a sister-in-law, Louise Hughes of Abilene; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews, all whom loved her dearly. MEMORIALS - The family request memorials be sent to the Claude Cemetery Association or to a charity of one’s choice.
