Cecil Ray Short's Obituary
Services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel in Amarillo with Charles Jones officiating.
INTERMENT - Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon immediately following the service.

Cecil Ray Short was born on November 18, 1927 in Newlin to John Short and Jewell Duckett Short. He married LaRee Hewett Short on September 28, 1952 in Clarendon. He has been a resident of Amarillo for the past 65 years. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the National Camping and Hiking Association, and he enjoyed fishing and bowling.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers R.V. Short, Johnny Short, Dexter Short and Clifford Short; and 1 sister Oleta Short.
SURVIVORS –Cecil is survived by his wife Laree Short of Amarillo; 3 sons Gaylon Short of Amarillo, Kelly Short and wife Elizabeth of Wichita, Ks, and Terry Short of Amarillo; 2 brothers Wendell Short and wife Glenna of Amarillo and James Short and wife Earlann of Fritch; 6 grandchildren Heath, CaSondra, Cameran, Nathan, Teresa, and Johnathan; and 6 great grandchildren Grace, Austin, Neala, Kylan, Kasyn, and Kapreese.
