HEDLEY SERVICES - 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2005 in the Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon, with Rev. Rob Seale, Pastor, Rev. Robert Shields, Family Member, and Rev. Chris Downer of Slaton, officiating. INTERMENT - Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Mr. Welch was born March 28, 1925 in Wellington. He was a Clarendon resident from 1973 until 2000 when he moved to Hedley. He and his wife had been residents of the Hudson House in Claude since May. He married Helen Louise Shields on December 11, 1948 at Wellington. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He retired from the Texas Department Of Highways and Public Transportation after several years, and had also been a farmer. He served for approximately 15 years as a director with Hocheim Insurance Company. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon. PRECEDED IN DEATH- his parents, two brothers, and one sister. SURVIVORS - his wife, Helen; one son, Tex Welch and wife Terri of Amarillo; one brother, William W. Welch of Dallas; & several nieces and nephews MEMORIALS- Calvary Baptist Church, Hedley Cemetery Association, & Odyssey Hospice.
