Carolyn Joyce Westmoreland, age 82, formerly of Wheeler, passed away on Saturday December 16th , 2017 in Amarillo, Texas after a short illness. She was born on July 31, 1934 in Jackson, Texas to the late J.H. and Mary Starr. Carolyn married the late Benjamin F. Westmoreland and moved to Wheeler, Texas. She owned the City Cleaners and later moved her business across the street into the historic City Drug building. She had a fabric business, ran the fountain and the Greyhound Bus stopover. She enjoyed her regular coffee drinkers and had many hours of great stories and laughs. But what truly made her happy were her children, their spouses and grandchildren. She also had a special place in her heart for all animals, taking in dogs and cats and even a pet chicken she had at her shop.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Daughter, Denise Johnson and Husband David currently residing in Lela, Tx. Son, Benjamin F. Westmoreland, III (Wes) and wife Deborah of Seagoville, Tx. Son, William Westmoreland (Bill) of Roanoke, Tx. Grandchildren, Colt Johnson and wife Kasey of Lake Weatherford, TX. Maisie and Saige Cross of Oklahoma City, OK. Corbin Westmoreland of Mesquite, TX. Brooke Westmoreland of Dallas, TX and Ryan Westmoreland of Austin, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the ASPCA or Humane Society of your choice.
