Carol Jo Sloss' Obituary
Carol Parrish Sloss, 74, of Shamrock passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Amarillo, TX.
Services will be Monday, December 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Christian Fellowship, with Rev. Charles Wyatt, Rev. Joseph Vallejos, and Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, officiating.
Burial will follow in Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, TX.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Carol Jo Parrish Sloss was born June 18, 1945 to Sterlin and Evalyn Parrish at the old Catholic Hospital in Shamrock, Texas. She made her heavenly home on December 11, 2019. Carol went to Shamrock High School and graduated in 1963. She attended Draun’s Business College. She worked at the Farmers & Merchants Bank, Harry Frye Insurance Agency, and Shamrock General Hospital. Carol married Sterling Sloss on October 26, 1968 in Shamrock, Texas. Carol lived her life with a loving and generous heart. She was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church and was very active in the women’s ministry. She was always willing to go the extra mile to help someone in need. She started Angel Food Ministries in Shamrock. She was very active in the community when her children were growing up. She was a past member of Emerald Study Club, Irish Helping Hands, and Octoberfest Committee. Even though Carol was confined to her home the last few years, she remained a vital part of her church. Carol impacted countless lives. She left this earth as she had lived, with grace, dignity, and a deep love and concern for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterlin and Evalyn Parrish.
She is survived by her husband of the home, a daughter Jennifer LeGate and husband Terry of Amarillo; a son James Sloss of Shamrock; 2 grandsons, Lucas and Logan LeGate; 3 sisters, Vickie Perkins and husband Lewis of Shamrock, Ann Brown and husband Jimmy Don of Shamrock, Jan Parrish Farr of Houston; numerous nieces and nephews; and her sweet poodle, Baxter.
