Carl Wayne Adams' Obituary
Carl Wayne Adams, 77, of Shamrock, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo.
The celebration of his life will be Saturday, September 3, at 2:00 pm at Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock with Joe Bruce and Pastor Joseph Vallejos, officiating. This will follow a graveside at 1:00 pm in the Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock.
Visitation will be Friday, September 02, 2022 at the funeral home from 5:00 ~ 7:00 PM.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Shamrock.
Carl Wayne Adams was born February 11, 1945, in Shamrock, Texas to Louie and Ruth Adams. He attended Shamrock Schools all 12 years. He was a medic in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967 serving in Texas and the Philippines. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life in May 1964. They were married 58 years. Upon discharge from the air force, Carl went to work for El Paso Natural Gas in August 1967. He moved back to Shamrock with his family in 1977. He worked in the oil and gas industry for 41 years and retired in 2008. He was the father of 3 children, Grampa to 15, and great Grampa to 14. He was a man with a generous heart that loved well and left a mark on his community and his family. He loved gardening, working with plants, camping, and anything outdoors. He enjoyed meeting friends at McDonald’s investing in his community, and spending time with his family and he will be missed by many.
Carl was a patriot and loved his country and lived by a strong sense of core values. He attended Calvary Christian Fellowship and supported other ministries that he loved. He loved Meals on Wheels and had a regular route and was also a relief driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jr. Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Adams of the home and his children: Jeff Adams of Hollis, OK, Fondee and Joe Bruce of Weatherford, TX, and Brandon and Qrista Adams of Lubbock, Texas; his 15 grandchildren, his 14 great grandchildren, his nephew Dale Adams of Shamrock, and his niece Cheri Eck of McLean.
