Brenda Shirlene Galley was born February 12, 1957, in Dumas, Texas to Bobby Jack Massey and Ella Mae Massey. She married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Galley, on February 15, 1975, in Amarillo, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McLean, Texas. Brenda poured her heart into caring for others, exemplified by her career as a registered nurse. She dedicated herself to caring for her aging parents as they entered the final years of their lives. She loved her brother Brent with everything she had, remaining his fiercest advocate and protector as he navigated life with autism. Brenda wholeheartedly loved her husband and he wholeheartedly loved her. She was a voracious reader and never ceased learning about new things. She unapologetically spoiled her pets and considered each and every one of them part of the family. Perhaps nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored. At her core, she was selfless, kind, thoughtful, and loved the Lord with all of her heart.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father Bobby Jack Massey, mother Ella Mae Massey, and her brother Brent Massey.
She is survived by her husband Eugene Galley of McLean, son Jonathan Galley (wife Nancy) of Lubbock, daughter Rachel Speer (husband Gary) of Lubbock, and four grandchildren: Bryn Galley, Kinsley Speer, Jonah Galley, and Everly Speer. The family requests memorials be sent to Joseph’s House, located in McLean, Texas.
