Bonnie was a friend of my father's, Bill Miner. I was cleaning out some files and ran across Christmas cards of his from 2009, including one from Bonnie, so I reached out to say hello and to assure her of the high esteem my father had for her. The email bounced, I googled, and here I am. I hope they have run across each other in Heaven. Bonnie, thank you for your friendship with my Dad, and thank you for your kind words to me on his passing.
I had a dream about Bonnie last night and when I woke up I realized that I had not seen anything from her on Facebook for a very long time. I went to my friends list and she wasn't there so I did a search and found this. I was her secretary when she was at Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. She was amazing and helped me realize my dream of being a webmaster. We did not have a district website at the time. She asked me "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I said I wanted to be a webmaster and she helped make that happen. When she left the district they created the job and transferred me from Class 1 Administrative Assistant to Web Manager. I was the 1st Web Manager at the district for 17 years until I retired in 2014. I just wanted to let her family know how much she meant to me.
Bonnie was so dedicated to enriching the lives of children through her work in public education. I am grateful to have known her as a mentor, colleague and a friend. She will be missed but long remembered for her lasting contributions. Bonnie truly made a difference.

To Bonnie's family, she was an outstanding lady and an exceptional educator. She worked with my late husband, Charles Benson, in Ysleta ISD in the early 1980's. Just wanted to say that when I student taught under Bonnie's leadership in the 1960's she gave me so much encouragement and many creative ideas that helped me as a teacher. She was funny and energetic, and most of all, she loved her students. I'm privileged to have known her. She was very proud of you, Bruce! I did not know Bonnie Lesley- but I do know her son Bruce. That means she was a great mom, a great person and a person who invested herself in what she thought was important and meaningful. Thank you for a life well lived. Bruce our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Bonnie was a great educator and a wonderful friend. I will always remember how she welcomed me when I was hired at Ysleta. She made my time there a real pleasure. I will carry fond memories of Bonnie forever.
