SERVICES- 2:00 pm Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the First Baptist Church in Claude with Rev. Dick Gravley, officiating. INTERMENT- with US Army Honors will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude. Arrangements are by Robertson Armstrong Chapel of Claude. Viewing will be held Wednesday and Thursday at Claude. Billy was born May 16, 1929 in Wellington to William and Goldie Grissom. He married Janie Sue Sorrells June 9, 1956 in Wellington. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Claude and the American Legion Post of Claude. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed wood working and metal art. Billy enjoyed drinking coffee with his veteran buddies and loved his family, friends, and his country. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and a granddaughter, Cheryl Campbell. SURVIVORS – his wife, Sue Grissom of Claude; 2 daughters, Cindy Sanders and husband Ralph of Claude and Shona Able and husband John of Hobbs, NM; 2 sisters, Ruth Hopkins of Colorado Springs and Anita Trout of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. MEMORIALS - The family request memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church of Claude or the Claude American Legion.
