Billy Don Bonner's Obituary
Billy Don Bonner, 61, of Shamrock died Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Wheeler.
Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2018 in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock with Rev. Joe G. Jernigan and Joseph Vallejos, officiating. Burial will follow in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Billy was born October 2, 1957 in Wheeler to Albert and Faye Kirkland Bonner. Billy married Gail Jones on May 15, 1985 in Wheeler. Billy was a US Army veteran. He had been a lifetime resident of Shamrock where he had worked for the City of Shamrock prior to his retirement. Billy was a member of the American Legion and served as Commander the past 8 years. Billy was also a longtime member of the Shamrock Volunteer Fire Department serving for 44 years. He was a member of State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas and the Panhandle Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association where he served as Past President. Billy also was an instructor at different area fire schools. He had volunteered with Little League Baseball for 20 years. Billy enjoyed carpentry, cooking for others, woodworking, and building stuff. He dearly loved his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dean Bonner; and 2 sisters, Debbie Bonner and Wilma Ann Bonner.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Bonner of Shamrock; 3 sons, Craig Maifield and wife Tara of Watertown, South Dakota, James Kuntz of Plainview, and B.J. Bonner and wife Ashley of Shamrock; 4 daughters, Mandy Reiffenberger and husband Ryan of Watertown, South Dakota, Cindy Reyes and husband Miley of Shamrock, Addrien Barker and husband Choya of Quinlan, and Janet Culpepper and husband Cliff of Waco; a sister, Janie Tate and husband Butch of Sunray; 24 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
