Betty Joy Gaines' Obituary
Betty Joy Gaines, 80, of Wheeler died Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Wheeler.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 in the Wheeler Church of Christ with Andy Taylor and Steve Gaines, officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler.
Viewing will be held Thursday from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Betty was born November 21, 1940 in Childress to Herman and Adline Miller. She married Elbert Glen Gaines on November 21, 1957 in Wheeler. She had been a resident of Wheeler since 1953 where she worked in the school cafeteria, Thiftway, and Home Health prior to her retirement. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a member of the Wheeler Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 15, 1996; and a son, Gary Gaines in 1958.
Survivors include her sons, Phillip Gaines and wife Carrie and Russell Gaines all of Wheeler; 5 grandchildren, Kandra Warren and husband Matt, Trenton Gaines and wife Kimmy, Nicholas Gaines and wife Megan, Caleb Gaines and wife Kristine, and Michael Gaines and wife Ariel; and 7 great grandchildren.
The family request memorials be sent to Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department or North Wheeler County EMS.
