SERVICES – 10:00 AM Thursday, June 1, 2017 in the First Baptist Church in Claude with Rev. Dick Gravley, officiating.
INTERMENT – Claude Cemetery in Claude.
ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Claude Chapel.
Viewing will be held only at the service on Thursday.
Betty Bernice Phillips Barnes, 82, of Claude joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 29, 2017. Betty was born December 19, 1934 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Walter and Madeline Phillips. Betty received her registry and began her work as a lab and x-ray technician at the Las Vegas Hospital. On December 21, 1956 she married Pete Barnes of Dilley, Texas. Betty was a homemaker for 20 years and began working as an x-ray and lab tech for Texas Tech School of Medicine outline clinic of Claude for 10 years before retiring.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – her parents; only sister; a son in law, Wesley Reed; and her husband, Pete Barnes.
SURVIVORS – daughter, Alison Paetzold and husband David of Amarillo; daughter, Kathy Barkley and husband Rick of Gruver; son, Clifford Barnes and wife Tracy of Garden City, Texas; daughter, Sheila Irons and husband Kevin of Forney; Eleven grandchildren; Eight great grandchildren. Betty loved her family and friends deeply and was loved deeply by all. A very special Thank You to Jill Benson and the Hudson House ladies who cared for and loved our Mom while she made her home there.
