Archie B. Cooper, age 104, met his Lord and Savior face to face on April 16, 2017 while residing at Heritage Assisted Living Center in Yukon, OK. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God remained his primary focus to the end of his life.

Archie was born to the late William Robert (Bob) and Julia Elizabeth (Hale) Cooper in Erick, OK on September 10, 1912. He was immersed in pastoral ministry from the age of 22 and his service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the fire in his bones throughout his life. You could not enter into conversation with Archie before he would direct the conversation to his belief in God and a question about YOUR relationship with Jesus Christ. He was firmly set in his belief, gentle, kind, dependable, and loved by a multitude of friends and loved ones.
Archie was blessed to be the fifth of ten children and was the last surviving sibling. He married his sweetheart, Virginia Conway on June 17, 1937. God blessed them with four children, Trucile Miller (David), Wynona Hail, Jerry Cooper (Trudy) and Sharon Blake (Bill).
Archie was a servant at heart and often could be found offering a helping hand to those in need and to the less fortunate. He was kind and soft-spoken, and made a good jungle gym for the grandkids. As soon as a grandchild was big enough to mount his back; he would be in the floor on all fours and the giggles would begin and last for hours. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Archie was preceded in death by his devoted wife; his nine siblings, a son-in-law William T. Hail and a great-grandson, Andrew Yates. He is survived by his four children, his grandchildren Vickie Garrison (Duane), Terry Miller (Michelle), Tracy Yates (Kristen), Carla Meadows, Renee Mills (Michael) and Justin Cooper. Great-grandchildren Kendall Garrison, Casey Garrison, Aimee Wilson (Jered), Caroline Mills, Abagail Mills, Emma Kate Mills and one great-great-granddaughter Eleanor Yates. He was also blessed with extended family through Wynona’s marriage to William Hail and additional grandchildren through Sharon’s marriage to Bill Blake and a daughter, Jan Cotter, that he and Virginia embraced into the family.
The family suggest memorials be sent to the Arena Life Cowboy Church, Box 89, McLean, TX 79057.
