Anita Jean Henry Brown's Obituary
Anita Jean Brown, 86, of Goldthwaite formerly of Wheeler died Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Goldthwaite.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Beth Helton and Rev. Matt Gary, officiating.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Anita was born December 27, 1933 in Ada, Oklahoma to James Vestal and Viola Earnest Henry. She married Richard S. Brown on August 20, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Anita was a teacher for many years prior to her retirement. She had served as past president of the Texas Cattle Women, and the Top O' Texas Cattle Women. She also had served as a local and district officer for Girl Scouts. Anita loved to read, and with that love she served on the Wheeler Public Library Board and was active volunteer for the Jennie Trent Dew Library in Goldthwaite. Anita was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wheeler where she led the children's choir for years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Survivors include her husband Richard Brown of Goldthwaite; her son, Rich Brown and wife Lori of Goldthwaite; her daughter, Beth Helton and husband Dale of Decatur; four grandchildren, Cole Brown and Lauren Brown both of Dallas, Rachel Brown of Aurora, Colorado, and Macy Helton of Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the Wheeler Public Library, First United Methodist Church in Wheeler, or the Jennie Trent Dew Library in Goldthwaite.
