Andres Garza's Obituary
Andres Garza, 96, of Memphis, died on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Amarillo.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Rev. Bret Prince, officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Andres was born February 2, 1924 in Mission, Texas to Julian and Guadalupe Gurrea Garza. He married Teodora Dolores Martinez on December 12, 1943 in Mission. Andres was a resident of Memphis most of his life where he worked as a gin operator for the Memphis Compress. He loved to carve wood and would make any design that would come to his mind. He read many books, loved to whistle, and loved to read his Bible more than anything. Andres was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Tedora Garza on July 21, 2012; 2 sons, Andrew Garza Jr and Matias Garza; a daughter, Yolanda Ramos; 2 grandchildren, Gabriel Garza Jr and Marinda Ramos; a great grandchild, Jason Ramos; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and by 2 son-in-laws, Jerry M. Stout and Eulalio Garza.
Survivors include 7 sons, Arturo, Gabriel, Israel, Moses, Joe, Joel, and Johnny Garza; 3 daughters, Angelica Stout, Sylvia Garza, and Sara Beam; and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests that donations be sent to the United Pentecostal Church in Memphis, 519 N 9th St, Memphis, Texas 79245.
