Amanda Louise Childress' Obituary
Amanda Louise Childress, 39, of Wheeler died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in Wheeler.
Services will be 1:30 PM Monday, October 5, 2020 at Wheeler High School Nicholson Football Field in Wheeler. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Amanda was born February 1, 1981 in Shamrock to Lloyd Wayne and Patricia Louise Childress. She had been a lifetime resident of Wheeler County. Amanda was a huge Dallas Cowboys and Wheeler Mustangs fan and loved cheering on her favorite teams. She also loved country music and met several of her favorite artists throughout her life. Amanda never met a stranger and loved dancing. She was very active in Special Olympics where she started when she was 9 and was active for more than 20 years. She loved going to check the horses with her Dad and all the many adventures that the horses took them on. She was the apple of her dad's eye.
She was preceded in death by her father; her paternal grandfather, L.D. Childress; and her maternal grandparents, Grady B. and Edith Brown of Sayre, Oklahoma; and her "unc", Grady E. Brown of Sayre, Oklahoma.
Survivors include her mother, Pat Childress of Wheeler; her paternal grandmother, Wanda Childress of Briscoe; her brothers, Colby Childress and wife Brandy of Kenmare, North Dakota and Jeromy Childress and wife Tanya of Green River, Wyoming; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
