I am just a random no one who read about your fathers passing and having lost my own father who sounds quite familiar to yours, I felt your writing coming from the depths of your soul. However if you could write obits like that for anyone, I believe you have oddly found your calling (if you haven’t already) not just as a writer but to write obits for others especially during a time in which things can be so sad but some memories so absolutely bizarre that you must share to tell the world who a person truly was. I’m inspired by your writing and curious if that’s your career or this was just off the cuff as you deal with so mu ch during this difficult time. Either way, it’s changed my perspective on obituaries forever and hope to see more realistic and proper send offs from here on. Who says we have to be so vague, mundane, and ordinary about speaking on a life? I’m so glad you are breaking your own mold and changing the view on what the synopsis of life should be. Still it’s with heartfelt regret and respect for your loss. As with who remains after this loss, be sure to take care of one another and always love each other where they are and how they are no matter what that may look like just as it appears you have with this man. Love appears in so many forms I genuinely wish your family all the best through this difficult time.
