Carol Jean Glover, 83, of Amarillo, formerly of Memphis, died Monday, January 24, 2022 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2022 in the First United Methodist Church in Memphis. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Viewing will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM with the family receiving friends for visitation from 4:00-6:00 PM. VISITATION HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis. Carol was born December 28, 1938 in Meridian, Texas to Perry Clifton and Nina Joe Glover. She was a 1957 graduate of Memphis High School. She then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received her bachelors degree and later obtained her masters degree from West Texas State University. She had been a resident of Amarillo since 1963 and worked for Northwest Texas Hospital for 35 years and was a Lab Supervisor prior to her retirement. She enjoyed going to the movies, cooking, gardening, and traveling especially to Santa Fe.. Carol had many passions and hobbies. She loved playing the harmonica, photography, making jewelry, working with rocks, and story telling. She was a member of the Storytellers Association and enjoyed attending the Cowboy Symposiums in Lubbock. She was a season ticket holder to the Amarillo Symphony and Lone Star Ballet for many years. She enjoyed every show or concert they preformed. Carol never met a stranger. Her favorite time of the year was Easter and she dearly loved all of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her sisters, Nina Wren Harman of Memphis and Perry Jo Boland of Amarillo; 4 nieces and 2 nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; and 2 great great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to: First United Methodist Church of Memphis, American Diabetes Association, or the Fairview Cemetery Association.
