June 25, 1949 - December 13, 2020

Albert Ray Stone, 71. of Memphis died Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Memphis. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 9:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis. Al was born June 25, 1949 in Memphis to Albert Billy and Katherine Walls Stone. He married Sherrie A. Altman on May 30, 1991 in Memphis. He had been a lifetime resident of Memphis where he was a mechanic prior to his retirement. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He loved his family and racing with his boys. He also loved his cars, hot rods, and his dogs. He was a member of the American Legion and the breakfast club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis where he enjoyed working in the church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, J.C. Stone. Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Stone of Memphis; his sons, Jerad Stone and wife Penny and Shelby Stone and wife Michelle all of Amarillo, Randall Johnson of Austin and Robert Johnson and wife Lindy of Waco; his brother, Tex Stone and wife Debbie of Memphis; his 12 grandchildren, Jerzy Stone, Denton Turner, Melanie Stone, Jordan Pompa, Natalia Boillat, Brookelynne Johnson, Raegan Johnson, Tacie Johnson, Tavin Johnson, Triston Johnson, McKenzie Hinds, and Garrette Hinds; his 4 great grandchildren, Kyra Copeland, Landon Turner, Jensyn Turner, and Lilly Turner; and several nieces and nephews. The family request memorials be sent to the American Heart Association.
